KYOTO GLOBAL DESIGN AWARDS
Community Landscape, by Bjørnådal Arkitektstudio, receives the prestigious Kyoto Global Design Award.
22.10.23 — Project, "Community Landscape", has been honored with the prestigious Kyoto Global Design Award, for its innovative approach to art in public space. The prize was awarded for the project's outstanding design, which redefines the concept of the grandstand, transforming it into a monumental, functional work of art.
The Kyoto Global Design Awards, known for highlighting outstanding architecture and design from around the world, recognized the project for its fusion of high-quality design and environmental awareness.
Hans-Petter Bjørnådal, CEO and Creative Director at Bjørnådal Arkitektstudio, expressed his gratitude for the prestigious recognition: "We are deeply honored to receive the Kyoto Global Design Award for Community Landscape. This project reflects our dedication to creating poetic and holistic architecture, an architecture that harmonizes with nature while serving the community's needs."
Community Landscape is a parametric installation that meanders through the landscape and creates various sitting and activity spaces, secluded niches for relaxation and more open landscapes for larger gatherings. The design draws inspiration from nature, and integrates seamlessly with the natural surroundings.
The jury, consisting of experts in design, art. culture and architecture, honored Community Landscape for its holistic and poetic approach to architecture. The installation is not only a meeting place for the local community, but also serves as a "statement" for sustainable design.
