Goma Elementary School

Updated: Nov 7, 2023

Bjørnådal Arkitektstudio has been selected to design the Goma Elementary School.

Bjørnådal Arkitektstudio has been chosen by Betonmast Røsand and Kristiansund Municipality for the detailed planning of a new elementary school in Kristiansund.

The new school will replace two schools in Kristiansund, Dalabrekka School and the existing Goma Elementary School. The existing school will be demolished, and a new school will be built on the same site.

"We are proud to be a part of designing such a significant community project for Kristiansund," says Hans-Petter Bjørnådal, CEO of Bjørnådal Arkitektstudio.

The school will be approximately 5,100 square meters with a large outdoor area, benefiting around 400 students in Kristiansund Municipality.

"Investing in education is investing in the future, and it is a clear priority from the city council that is now being realized," says a satisfied mayor, Kjell Neergaard.

In two years, students, teachers, and other professionals from Dalabrekka and Goma schools will begin at a new and forward-looking school in Goma.

The start date depends on the final approved zoning plan but is estimated for the third quarter of 2023, with completion in the second quarter of 2025.

"It is very gratifying to contribute to another significant and important community project for Kristiansund Municipality. We have just completed a school of similar size in the neighboring municipality of Averøy and are really looking forward to starting the project this autumn," says Eskild Røsand, CEO of Betonmast Røsand."
